The black abstract Moths are cut in Plexi-glas and are then inlaid with lustrous white and red Mother of Pearl. Finished with fine engraved lines, this collection fuses the traditional and modern techniques of marquetry and laser cutting. The chains used are 1950's vintage and gold plate and the ear leverbacks are 14ct gold-fill. These earrings, along with other pieces in the Monarch Collection are limited edition, sold only through Thor & Wistle and are lovingly handmade to order. We are excited to present the Autumn/Winter 2013 Collections from Rachel Entwistle. Teaming up with Alain Pichon for hair and Grant Sebastian Lee for the photography, the Lookbook campaign brings together pieces from her Memento Mori and Milagros Collections. The collections explore new creative directions, while preserving the trademark balance between feminine beauty and challenging subjects. Memento Mori is a study on mortality and decay, and a reminder of our transient presence in the world, while Milagros features ornate cross designs and reflects on one of man's most ancient symbols. Both are inspired by the fascination with human ritual, and our reliance on tokens and amulets to keep ourselves grounded while the world changes around us.
